I wasn’t sure which category to label this entry in to be honest lol…so yeah, Friday was my birthday xP If you’re following me on Twitter, you probably saw me posting up photos throughout the day–not that it was terribly exciting or anything but it was nice nonetheless. It was actually the first birthday I spent at home in three years (in 2009 I was in Ottawa but celebrated on the weekend when I came home for Thanksgiving; in 2010 and 2011 I was out of the country) so that was nice.

Went to lunch at the Little Bavaria restaurant. I love how my birthday falls on Oktoberfest, their decor is awesomeness.
German food is never complete with German beer *thumbs up* Weihenstephaner is still my favourite of them all though but this one is good too.
Oh weiner schnitzel, how I missed you *hearts* I really need to learn how to cook this…
Went back home to have cake. It’s an ice cream cake (which, for the first time, was finished within less than two days–insane!), jamocha almond from Baskin Robbins =) And yes, the candles are correct re: my age xP
I miei regali da la mia famiglia =) 3 books by Italian authors (gosh, aren’t the New York Review Books so pretty? I love it! And their selection is pretty ace too) and three rings.
And as my final photo, this arrived in the post on Friday! It was released in the UK on the 4th and I had pre-ordered it from the Book Depository a few weeks ago but I didn’t expect it to arrive until at least next week. It even looks and feels like it was newly printed…so excited to read this xDDD
And that was my birthday in a nutshell. I like low-key birthdays xD I actually spent the rest of the afternoon and evening marathoning Showtime’s Homeland with my family; they have three episodes left to go and I have two. Expect a post about it here at some point, I have so many feels about it xP But yeah, it was a lovely birthday, thank you everyone who tweeted or FB’ed birthday greetings to me, it really made my birthday all the more special *hugs*
Edit: Forgot to add, my best friend from elementary sent me a birthday card in the post that arrived the day before. It was really sweet of her. Didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the birthday cards my family gave me–I always look forward to my brother’s cards because they’re so creative. This year was Angry Birds-themed; last Christmas his card was Dalek-themed. It was awesome.
